Hi everyone I ve been working on a bunch of car paintings for a project at work. I find myself really into painting the reflections make the piece ultra realistic but if you zoom in you can see how loose it is. This piece was created from a photo. I put 2 images in there so you can see the piece just about half done. EnJoY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Everyone it has been a while since I last posted new work. I ve been extremely busy and too tired to post on my blog. I am Posting some of the paintings from work. We purchase royalty free pictures and we turn them to paintings. I usually change the colors, sky, crop them and make them look something better than just a photo. I usually first turn the picture to a painting using Painter and Photoshop, then I print them on canvas or paper depending on the piece, Texture them and paint a good 45-50% on top of it with acrylic or oils. These paintings are created for themed restaurants/ hotels. I hope you like them. tell me what you think.
Here are some new renderings that were created at Raleigh Design. I had lots of fun creating these and I feel that I learned and accomplished a lot by doing them. Mark Mitchell is the concept architect for the building and with his help and by looking at him sketching I have learned very valuable information. I created 4 renderings for the Disney presentation starting at 4pm thursday I finished at 6 am Friday(allnighter baby).* on the second rendering there is a wal design that I designed and it was approved, so it will be used for as a wallcover. Here are my favorites.
Here is my celebrity portrait of Kelis. Lately I ve been really into quick sketching and painting fast digitally, I am really enjoying the feel of this and I am able to understand more about the colors and the shapes.EnJoY.
Massive fires have been burning my country over the summer, the fires are caused by arsonists that either burns the land to get revenge from the government or to help land developers take over beautiful forests and turn them to houses or hotels. That is insane. I found a satellite picture from Yahoo of the fires and I am posting it so people can see and understand the size of the destruction the fires are causing. Sadly Greece is not only the birthplace of democracy but the birthplace of the biggest idiots. I hope that no more people will get harmed and the fires will be extinguished without burning anymore parts of this beautiful country.
This is a quick digital painting I did. A rebetis (pl. rebetes) (Greek ρεμπέτης) is a musician involved in the scene of the Greek musical genre of rebetiko, which flourished between 1920 and 1955 (winkipedia). This painting to me represents Greece and the greek music tradition. I hope you like it.
Hi everyone, I recently got a weimaraner puppy from Unity weimaraners ( you can click on my links on Greg McLogan) His name is Soulis and he is a crazy hyper dog and is probably the only dog that can hang with me due to my hyper activity, anyways here is a painting of him, EnJoY.......................
Hello everyone, recently I was added in Artaz.gr. A database of greek artists working in Greece or around the world for the design industry. I am happy that I finally was added to a site of my country and you can actually view the site in English so you can read my little bio. Check it. http://www.artaz.gr/eng/alexakis.html HaVe FuN
This is one of my most favorite pieces. Borat is a funny character and I have been a fan for a while. I took one of his sayings "God, man, horse, dog woman and then little critters" and created this piece. Here is how my painting was done. First i did couple of thumbnail sketches but I knew that the layout had to be diferrent to fit with the crazy personality this character has. I created a full rendered skecth. I always like doing that because I can use the actual sKetch as an overlay on the final piece like it happened on this one. After painting the piece and throwing lots of textures and brush strokes I lost my line work so I duplictaed my drawing layer and trhew on top as an overlay at 20%. After The whole thing was painted I created a layer and darkened the bottom left of the piece so the focus was his face and not the bottom. Enjoy my process and please feel free to leave any comments. HaVe FuN.
It has been a while since I updated my blog so I decided to update it. The last couple of months I have been trying to lenarn how to create architectural renderings fast and clean. I am not sure I am there yet. I believe I need to treat these more like artwork instead of just renderings, which is a result of timing issues, these need to be created in less than 8 hours each. I believe the perfection of the pieces will come with time and experience. Here are some of the most descent ones. Most of them are digital and the wine bar is rendered half on the computer and half gouache. Tell me what you think.
This is a digital watercolor painting I did. It started from a photograph from Michael O'donovan to a drawing to Photoshop from Photshop to Painter IX to photoshop again and then to an Epson 9800 pro. Enoy( this is my current workspace).
This is a sign that I painted I was given a black and white photo and turned to this. I have another 3 of them to go plus more stuff that i haven't upload yet .Have fun
